From the preface: The discovery of Bhukia Gold Field in 1991-92 led to sustained and continuous exploration activity by the Geological Survey of India for more than two decades resulting in accumulation of large amount of field and laboratory data. The present compilation embodies the geoscientific data including the detailed and systematic subsurface exploration of gold by a number of workers and the chemical analyses of thousands of samples which have confirmed the Bhukia gold find into significant prospects of economic significance.

The field observations, maps and data given in different stand-alone reports of GSI have been synthesized and integrated in meaningful database for the benefit of exploration geologists and stakeholders. The publication deals with geology, structure, mineralization and minerals resource estimation in detail.
