The research book ‘Emerging United States Policy of Global Public Health: Study of US approach to HIV/AIDS in India has been carried out with an aim to seek the evolving concept of global public health in the recent times. The study also aims to achieve its objective of examining the global public health policy of the United States and moreover exploring the shift in the Public Health Policy of the United States at both national and international level. It also attempts to focus on the key issues of the United States Global Health Policy.
This book also deals the goals which the United States has set to achieve have been multifaceted. On one hand it attempts to eradicate the health problems from the world on humanitarian ground and on the other hand it protects its citizen from different infectious diseases to secure its national interests. Besides national interests, it also endeavors to achieve the economic gains from the global market by achieving high ranks in R&D and pharmaceutical industry etc. Although US government efforts to advance global health have evolved from divergent interests, including humanitarian motives, today there is an increasing willingness to link global health with US national security.
