Hindustani
as it Ought to be Spoken (Romanised)/J. Tweedie. Reprint. First published in

From the preface: "This little book has been written at the request of ladies, so that no apology for its appearance is called for. Their complaint was that no book exists from which they can gain a complete and correct knowledge of the Hindustani language suited to their daily requirements; and so they have to struggle with books which give them both too much and too little. Therefore they requested that a small book should be written by aid of which the true grammatical structure of the language might be learned, and a stock of words acquired which are actually in daily use. It is hoped, that those who have learned the lessons of this book viva voce with the author will remember him kindly when they see these lessons in print."
