All the genera in the family and all the species in a genus are arranged in alphabetical sequence. All the keys are of the dichotomous indented type. The nomenclature is brought up-to-date. Species enumeration is with citation, description, phonological data, duration of flowering and fruiting, distribution in the world and in the study area, locality and field collection number and vernacular names in Kannada language. The book is profusely illustrated with line drawings and colour photographs. An index to the species, genera and families has been given at the end." (jacket)
