    "The present book is an effort to focus on the present and future prospects of the dyeing printing and textile industry. Since, India is one of the largest producers of the textiles, the small scale industries like dyeing and printing serve as seedbeds of entrepreneurship. This industry, being labour intensive, has significantly contributed to the development of particularly the semi arid tract. Where agriculture is not the main source of earning due to the scarcity of water. This industry has provided employment to the people in a large number.

    An attempt has been made to the major changes observed in this traditional industry and the factors governing its localization.
