    "Astanga Samgraha is a great Ayurvedic text embedded with all the 'best' material selected from Charaka Samhita and Sushruta Samhita by Vagbhata. The sutra-sthana contains the fundamental principles and basic concepts of Ayurvedic medicine and it happens to be one of the examinations going subject at the end of very first semester of BAMS course throughout the country.

     In recent years, because of the growing popularity of Ayurveda, many of the students, who have studied in English medium schools, colleges are also opting for BAMS course and because of non-availability of a student friendly English version of Astanga Samgraha-Sutrasthana are facing many hardships in grasping the subject matter in true spirit at the entry level itself.

    The English translator of this book, who taught Astanga Samgraha-Sutrasthana for number of years at Dr. BRKR Govt.
