"From the beginning of history, religion and philosophy has been admittedly the most vital force in shaping the human civilisation at various developmental stages. Although many scholars have worked on the history of oriental religio-philosophical tradition, but till date no such complete and comprehensive work on this subject is available to us. Keeping this in mind, we have planned to publish multi-volumes Encyclopaedia of Oriental Philosophy and Religion in four phases successively in every year. The main emphasis has been given to provide comprehensive information about Hinduism, Judaism, Zoroastrianism, Jainism, Buddhism, Shintoism, Taoism, Confucianism, Islam, Sikhism and on other minor Oriental Religio-Philosophical system. In the first phase of this encyclopaedic project, Hinduism in three volumes and Judaism in two volumes had been released in 2005. In the second phase of this project, we are publishing five volumes again on Zoroastrianism (one volume) and Buddhism (three volumes)." (jacket)
