"Advances in Fish and Wildlife Ecology and Biology Volume IV, comprises of three sections. Section I deals with Fish and Limnology. There is a paper on reproductive aggression and territorial disputes between male Red Hybrid Tilapia, a paper on fecundity of Schizothorax, a paper on histochemical localization of DNA in G.I. Tract and liver of Nemacheilus, Testicular development of a male Amazonian Red discus, a paper on Icthyofauna of Periyar River, two papers on new species of acanthocephalan parasites from two fish, there are also two papers on seasonal variations of Zooplankton and phytoplankton from two varied water bodies, a paper on Plankton studies of a rice field, a paper on limnology of famous Wullar Lake and a review paper on sewage utilization for agriculture and pisciculture.  

Section II deals with wildlife. One of the papers is on the reproductive biology of Little Bittern-a migratory bird from Kashmir. Another paper deals with large mammals from the Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary in Kerala. There is a paper on wetland management of waterfowl in Kashmir. Another paper deals with effects of sublethal administration of Orthene and Diazinon in rat. There are also a paper on Ovular Atresia in wall lizard. A paper on issues in patenting of life forms has been included in this section in view of the recent conflicts created over the ownership of biological resources between different countries. A paper in bio-ecology of Rhesus Monkey and a note on Pygoferal spines in genus Extianus also find a place in this section." (jacket)
