""The most telling sign of old age is not caring anymore".

'Ageing', i.e. growing older is a universal natural phenomenon. With miraculous achievements in the fields of health care and medicine, longevity of humans has prolonged whereas mortality rate is checked. Consequently the population of elderly persons is increasing leaps and bound. The sad aspect of scenario is that traditional values of respecting and caring old have diminished and the 'senior citizens' are suffering from many problems social-familial, health, economic etc.

This book focuses on problems of aged/elderly persons in the state of Tripura. Based on empirical studies, this will prove a primary source book to scholars, policy-makers, administrators and social activists in the field of gerontology and sociology/social work." (jacket)
