From the Foreword: "The present volume- The Catalogue of Nepalese Vascular Plants is the result of works that the Botanical Survey and Herbarium Section of The Department of Medicinal Plants has been undertaking to fulfill one of its objectives, the preparation and publication of Flora of Nepal. This has certainly enriched the collection of materials and at the same time gave a fairly good glimpse of the present condition of vegetation and floristic composition of the country in a short period. Further collections of plant specimens will be continued so as to make this catalogue more comprehensive in future."
