Dictionary plays in an important part in the learning process. Dictionaries constitute a significant part of the basic material that is required for the understanding of a subject. There has been a lack of literature on shooting and it has always hindered the development of shooting sport. Dictionaries are crucial for the learning process, more so for shooting sports which is a developing sport in the many regions of the world.

Shooting like other sports has its own language, technical terms, slang, and idioms. Many of the words are expressions used in official regulations are defined as a part of the rulers. These definitions or more properly, explanations are beneficial for new shooters and officials for clear understanding of the shooting regulations and coaching techniques.

This is not a final edition, infect it can’t be a final edition as shooting field is an ever growing process. Although the international shooting sports federation has described rules and regulation for recognized shooting events but these sports is also being practiced at various levels and with indigenous and local rules. Therefore a dictionary in this field can’t include everything. The case has been taken of semantic liabilities and specified information.
