"The approach to rehabilitation after injury must include an accurate appraisal of muscle strength to determine areas of local weakness. The results of muscle testing are evaluated in terms of muscle strength on opposite sides of the body. A full range of motion is equally important and limitations when compared to the opposite side give rise to the possibility of further injury. Unless strength and range of motion are accurately determined the athlete is not fully protected against further difficulty.

The present study entitled Athletic Conditioning is an painstaking effort by the author in the field of physical education and sports. It is specially intended for the sportspersons, athletes, prospective coaches, students and teachers of physical education and sports." (jacket)
