The book ‘A Comprehensive Textbook of Botany’ is a result of hard work of Dr. Shankar Lal and his associates Dr. Arun Kumar, Dr. Renu and Dr. Sanjive Kumar Singh. Generally, the conventional book of botany are limited to morphology, anatomy, description of major families of economic plants. On the other hand, this book deals with details of Genetics, Physiology, Biotechnology, Ecology, Cytology, Economic Botany and Seed Technology to enlarge its horizon, covering as many as 29 chapters, 27 tables, 13 charts, 235 photos/diagrams/figures, 105 acronyms and 16 appendices, mainly on higher plants.
