This third volume of A Descriptive Catalogue of Sanskrit Manuscripts is a compendium of various Puranic texts with the elaborate descriptions.

The Ramayana and the Mahabharata have also been included in this volume. A good number of these texts have important commentaries on the Ramayana and the Mahabharata literature. Some little known and unknown commentators with their commentaries are also described here. Various Puranas and Upapuranas with their unpublished commentaries have been included. The commentaries are described which help us know the time of some unknown and little known authors of ancient India.

Few unpublished texts represent not only new information but also a deep attention into the Puranic literature along with the Epic Literature also.

The subject of this volume will not only help further study and research into Puranic Manuscripts but also it will open a new horizon in the field of Puranic literature as a whole.
