The Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) is a premier research institute functioning under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), serving to the Nation over 109 years. ZSI has been collecting data on faunal discoveries in India since 2007 and publishing them as a document entitled "Animal Discoveries- New Species and New Records" every year. The present book for the year 2024 deals with 683 new discoveries published by the scientists, faculties and researchers from India which include 459 new species and 224 newly recorded species to India. As a result of it, the faunal diversity of India has been enhanced to 1,05,244 species.
