"This important artist occupies a distinctive niche in contemporary Indian art. Since her first exhibition in 1958, her oil on masonite paintings and mixed-media works have continued to intrigue and enthrall art lovers both in India and abroad. Menon\'s oeuvre ever the last six decades is vast and spans many genres. In this trajectory she has constantly reinvented herself and each phase of her work has spawned an ardent following amongst young Indian artists, often heralding new trends and - isms.

The artist observes: "I can hardly believe that I have been driven to paint for over 50 years - a huge accumulation of work marked by progressions, deletions, regressions, diversions, milestones, retrievals and yes, some reckless experiments! I am grateful to Vadehra gallery who undertook the massive task of collecting the material from diverse and hard to access sources and bringing it all together in this handsome book.

No single volume can do full justice to the work of an accomplished artist whose work spans over half a century. This volume authored by Isana Murti is a modest attempt at presenting the entire range of Menon\'s work. Considerable research and careful documentation over a period of three years has culminated in this volume which has 342 colour illustrations."
