Chemistry is the scientific study of interaction of chemical substances that are constituted of atoms or the subatomic particles: Protons, electrons and neutrons. It is the science concerned with the composition, structure and properties of matter as well as the changes it undergoes during chemical reactions. Applied is distinguished from pure by a subtle combination of factors such as the motivation and attitude of researchers and the nature of the relationship to the technology or science that may be affected by the work.
The book expressly deals with diverse aspects of the subject in a broader perspective. The book is very useful for the undergraduate and post graduate students and civil service aspirants.(jacket)
