"Considerable work has been done on the Citrus classification by various taxonomists in different parts of the world, notably in the United States of America and Japan and brief review of the same with reference to Indian Citrus and Assam Citrus in particular, is probably necessary to explain the basis of the nomenclature as adopted in this treatise.
