"Economic Growth and Environment" is aimed to look into the various environmental issues of development. It proves into the environmental imbalance arising out of economic growth, industrial growth, transport growth, population growth, urbanisation etc. The book puts forth certain framework for attaining environmentally sustainable development. Besides economic aspects, sociopolitical aspects of environment degenaration and environment protection have also been taken into consideration. Proper agricultural policy, industrail policy, growth policy, fiscal policy and population policy are prescribed for the environmental protection in various economics specially LDCs. The book brings into clear focus the problems arising from uneven development, exploitative production and unthoughtful consumption. It provides critical framework for the analysis of the problems out-springing from the relationship between environment, bureaucracy, technocracy, industry, agriculture and urbanisation.
