Agronomy is a dynamic discipline. It deals with principles and practices of field management for the production of field crops. The crop production and postharvest technology have gradually being changed due to coming up of some inputs of agriculture such as high yielding varieties of different crops, pesticides, fertilizers etc. to fulfill our goal of crop production. Therefore, the soul of agriculture is agronomy and it is essential to have sound knowledge on different aspects of agronomy. Keeping this fact in view in the present “Encyclopaedia of Agronomy” attempt has been made to provide readily available information on various aspects of Agronomy. The whole subject matter has been divided in 30 chapters and 3 Volumes. It is hoped that this encyclopaedia serves as an advanced text cum reference book for students, research scholars, teachers, farmers, extension workers, policy makers, agribusiness entrepreneurs and common people related to agriculture.
