For Sustainable economic development one cannot deny the role of environmental ecology, which is either not considered or not adequately emphasized in the mainstream approach of economic growth for the developing economies. It was felt that poverty is the greatest polluter and environmental considerations are nothing but luxury for the poor countries and poor people, but gradually it has been agreed that by following the approach of sustainable economic development the interests of both the poor and rich people belonging to both types of countries not only of the present generation but also of the future generation are protected. An attempt is made in this book to understand the problems related with environment, ecology and sustainable economic development. (Jacket)
