The present work is an attempt to examine and evaluate the phenomenon of the increasing influx of consumer goods from Myanmar to the Indian state of Manipur and the asymmetric nature of border trade relations that has emerged there of posing a serious challenge for the Manipuri society within the broader perspective of India’s look East policy.

Based on empirical research findings this book makes a convincing attempt to highlight the critical issues and also the need for a policy change. This book may certainly be useful for academic consumption and also for policy planners.
