The future of our agriculture and food security will depend upon the attention we pay to soil conservation and enhancement of water harvesting and its careful and efficient use, conservation of agro-biodiversity, and anticipatory action for meeting the challenges of global warming resulting in unfavourable shift in temperature, rainfall and sea level rise etc.

Indian farming systems has now achieved so many bright milestones producing over 100 million tonnes of rice and 90 millions tonnes of wheat during 2011-12. Our milk production has reached about  120 million tonnes. The milk revolution also owned much to the integrated attention paid to milk handling, processing distribution and pricing.
