"The present flora is an outcome of a comprehensive survey extended over the entire Hilly Satpura forests in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra. The present work provides a systematic account of 813 flowering plants grouped into 442 genera assigned to 105 families occurring in this under-explored area. The flora is based on the original research of the authors. It also provides dichotomous keys to the identification of plants, their currently accepted botanical names (According to Recent International Code of Botanical Nomenclature), local names, economic and medicinal uses if any, apart from the requisite information about the district. New records of interesting, rare, endemic, endangered and exotic plants are also included.
This flora will be of immense value to the botanists, foresters, agriculturists, planners, pharmacists, phytochemists, ethnobotanists, research workers, teachers and students of undergraduate and postgraduate classes." (jacket)
