"In addition to a comprehensive floristic account of the existing vegetation, the monograph deals with 930 species of seed plants distributed among 504 genera belonging to 126 families. Besides, three species are described under "addenda\'. Dichotomous keys have been provided for the segregation of these taxa. 55 plates provided alongwith the pertinent species will further facilitate the quick and correct determination of the species. Several coloured photographs bring about the beauty of the area, vegetation and individual plants. To enhance the utility of the book and to cover the ethnobotanical side, a title on the economic aspect of the flora has been added. The flora will be useful not only to the botanists in general but also to the naturalists, amateurs, landscapists, town planners, foresters, environmental biologists and other specialists concerned with plant sciences in one way or the other."
