Laboratory Animal management is a multi-disciplinary concept in which in depth knowledge is required to achieve optimal results in term of management and handing of various laboratory animals. No doubt sufficient theoretical knowledge and practical training is needed for scientific management of various laboratory animals accordingly with a view to generate increased awareness and scientific knowhow among the students of BVSc. & A.H researchers and teachers of veterinary profession from various Agricultural/Veterinary University research institutes and bio-medical institution there was a felt need of having a standard textbook which dealt with the fundamental concepts of laboratory animals management in the Indian context.
