Language comes next to food. We are so intimately familiar with it that we take it for granted as we do breathing or walking. Different linguists have defined language in different ways O. Jesperson defines language as a set of human habits, the purpose of which is to give expression to thoughts and feelings. Language is learned actively. It does not come automatically, as walking does. This is a long process and we learn by imitation. The child is not born with the skill of speaking. He has to acquire after he is born. If a child were to be isolated from society or brought up in the deaf people, he would not be able to  pick up any language. The system of language is to be mastered at the habit level. When a person speaks his mother tongue, he does not consider the position of the various speech organs while making the meaningful noises. This book studies all the aspects of language and its formative factors. Further this book deals with the processes of teaching the mother tongue, limitations of grammar language, limitation of disciplinary pleas, problem of grammar the informal study of tongue. (jacket)
