The History of Indian Forestry is being brought out in two volumes, with the present volume II covering the period after 1947. This volume encompasses important developments in Indian forestry in the post-Independence era including the National Forest Policies of 1952 and 1988, laws for wildlife protection forest conservation and biological diversity, social and urban forestry, joint forest management, forest administration, re-organizing forestry research and education forest corporations, national forestry commission and many other milestones.
