Impact Assessment of Indian Agricultural Information System
The Indian National Agricultural Research and Education System (NARES) is one of the biggest academic and research systems in the world, effectively working in close association with agricultural research, education and extension. It has huge repository of knowledge and information on agriculture and allied sciences. Considering the significance of the library and information services to ensure quality education and research, the NARES initiated many laudable library modernisation projects in a phased manner. E-Granth is a milestone project in which 39 major agricultural libraries in India were liberally supported to meet the requirements of the stakeholders in the networked digital environment. This publication attempts to document the usage pattern of agricultural information systems and assess the impact of agricultural consortia from the data collected from the 39 e-Granth partner libraries. Based on the findings of the study, future action plan / road map for effective usage and strengthening of agricultural organic farmers in the country.
