India in Twenty First Century: The New Paradigms Ahead
Innovations do play a key role in the development of individuals, groups, societies, peoples or nations. It is human nature to innovate in various facets of his life, some time these innovations may not be through conscious design but may come also unknowingly as well. But in any case, they play a very vital role not just in the development process but also, better to say, in the growth of human civilization. Now we have an increasingly globalized and highly competitive world, innovations have acquired much more importance than even before.
One time the term innovation was typically used for technical or technological innovations. But in the recent past, when the terms like social engineering, management technology, development technology etc. are coming up in vogue, the term of innovation is also quite fashionably used in terms of generating new ideas in social and economic field. Thus now we use terms like social innovations or policy innovations.
In the past we have come across thousands of such innovations do aim at the improving the quality of life of people. Some researches involving policy makers have new insight and ideas regarding their socio-economic policy options. In our present edited book, we welcome the articles and research papers suggesting such socio-economic policy makers to refine their policies and programmes of development and innovations.(jacket)
