"Telematics since the schools today are only beginning to link microcomputers to information utilities and thereby to provide students new sources of knowledge and ideas, the move away from computer literacy will surely be slow. However, even today we can see that the concept of computer literacy sharply constraints our perspective on the new technologies and on our capacities to comprehend their educational possibilities; since "computer literacy" misses many important meanings inherent in today\'s complex information environments, it is a provisional concept. If future citizens, workers, and thinkers are to come to grips with the requirements created by the changing information society, today\'s ideas about literacy will need to become more telematic."
