Agro meteorology is an important branch of Meteorological Science dealing with the physics of atmosphere and weather phenomena. The basic concepts and theories in Agro meteorology and climatology has to be inculcated to the students and scientist of Agricultural Meteorology. It has been observed that there is a gap in Agrometeorology for the undergraduate level of Agriculture / Horticulture students which have been discussed in accordance with the nationwide ICAR syllabus and hence a textbook has been written keeping in mind the urgent need. Efforts have been made to describe meteorological concepts in a systematic and comprehensive manner. The subject matter has been illustrated with figures and tables, wherever, felt necessary. Each division has been divided into introduction, definition, concepts and theories. Glossary containing related terms has been presented at the end. The book has been framed keeping in view the requirements of the graduate, post graduate students, teachers and research scientists in Agro meteorology as per the latest updations of the 5th Deans’ Committee Recommendations and the author hopes that this will bring a thought provoking innovation.
