Starting with the history, the language (i.e. Tamil), the literature; history of printing ends up with Tamil lexicon in Part-A.

Part-B covers library movement in the state in 3 parts, namely early period; British period; and movement under Madras library association.

Part-C was devoted to libraries in the state--oriental, university libraries, research and libraries in the city of Chennai. An exhaustive list of museums in the state is also given.

Part-D describes the efforts for library legislation, public library system in the state and development of public libraries.

Part-E elaborates the library education in the state.

Part-F gives a brief account of each of the library association in the state.

Part-G lists our various reference sources in Tamil.
