"SRC, as you probably know, is a premier organisation engaged in research, training, consultancy, publications, seminars in the field of industrial relations and human resource management. It was founded in 1963 as an autonomous, Non-Profit Society Registered Under the Societies Act. Over the years, it has completed 172 research projects, published 69 books, organized over 3000 training programmes besides undertaking a large number of consultancy assignments. The research projects have been funded by various ministries of the Central and State Governments, Planning Commission, ICSSR and various international agencies like the World Bank, UNDP, Ford Foundation, ILO, FES, Germany, British Council, International Development Research Centre, Canada etc. The centre is recognized by the Government of India as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation."
