From the preface: Owing to shrinking forest area and deforestation we are fast losing our biodiversity. The medicinal plants, upon which the surrounding local community was dependent for centuries are getting rarer. Except in cities and town, where people use allopathic medicine, bulk of rural population is dependent on the medicinal plants surrounding us for treatment of bodily ailments. The book contains other details like distribution, morphological and phonological description, flowering and fruiting timings, method of propagation and a note on cultivation.
