Migration, Urban Informal Sector and Agricultural Efficiency in India

This book is an endeavor to bridge the gap between theoretical works and empirical studies in migration comprising both urban and rural sector simultaneously. Attempts have been made in this study to examine the mature, pattern and determinants of rural-urban migration in India with a special focus on family migration decision, rural-urban migration and the spread of urban informal sector and the likely impact of rural-urban migration on agricultural productivity and efficiency taking West Bengal as case study.
