" This book is about the lives of children living in urban poverty and its consequences on their day-to-day life and their future. A hundred and forty children living in most deprived conditions in Dhaka, tell their story. They relate their experiences and express their views about what it means to them to be poor and about their dreams. National policies, economic globalisation and its impact on poverty, poverty alleviation programmes and foreign aids are appraised with regards to their bearing on poverty creation and/or reduction.
