Parasitology: Camera Lucida to Omics
Parasitic diseases in animals constitute a considerable economic burden in many countries. Parasitic infestations due to subclinical parasitism assume greater importance in terms of production losses to livestock industry. Prevention and control of parasitic diseases is therefore one of the key issues to be addressed for sustaining production and productivity of our animals. In older days the diagnosis was mainly done by conventional methods but now in the present era this is shifting towards molecular techniques. Realizing the paradigm shift in the field of diagnostic methods the editor Dr. Sanweer Khatoon, release a book entitled "PARASITOLOGY: CAMERA LUCIDA TO OMICS". This book will be equally beneficial for researchers, Post Graduate students, professionals in the field of Parasitology. The chapters are contributes by the renowned faculty of the discipline and mainly focused on significant contemporary issues. The chapters are arranged in such a way that it starts with the old conventional techniques used in this discipline and then moving towards host - parasite interactions, impact of nutritional status for parasitic diseases outbreaks then its zoonotic potentials finally redirecting towards the molecular approaches that can be explored for the proper diagnosis and control of these diseases.
