"Interest group transforms into pressure group while it exerts pressure on political system. Pressure group is widely recognized as an instrument of tilting public policy in favor of them. The group pressure matters the dynamics of politics and shapes the process of policy making as well as implementation related to the group interest. This book, outcome of Ph. D research work, deals with the wide range of pressure group activities to put up their interest in Bangladesh politics . Since the independence of Bangladesh, about twenty committees and commissions under different regimes submitted their recommendations to government. Most of them did not see the daylight, some of them were shelved and those adopted were hardly similar as the commission recommended. The work presents the recent models and approaches to study of politics in a cogent form and shows their application to the intensive study of pressure groups in the politics system of Bangladesh. The book highlights the trends of forming associations and techniques adopted by pressure groups like civil servants, army, lawyers, businessmen, NGOs, trade unions and tribal groups along with their group interest to some extent. This book will be of immense help to the students of BSS (Hon\'s) and MSS classes in political science and the policy makers of Bangladesh to some extent." (jacket)
