In the case of livestock, control of the major epizootic diseases will be a prime requirement for increased production in the developing world. Veterinary vaccines are a major factor in programmes to bring the economically important diseases under control. They must be effective, consistent in performance and economically affordable. The book will help to protect farmers in the developing countries from the effects of poor-quality veterinary vaccines and will contribute to the welfare of livestock as well as the global control of animal diseases.
