Raziya Sultan

It is a work of historical fiction about a lonely and alienated lady on a horse back. A visionary and tragedienne, a poet and a warrior, she was the first woman ruler in her own right, at the helm of affairs of the Delhi Sultanate for more than three years in the first half of the thirteenth century. Her rule witnessed turbulence, travails and the tragedy of wielding power that subsequent women leaders have faced here and elsewhere. (jacket)
