From the Preface: Tissue Culture, a new biotechnological too, offers superior quality plant clone material free of diseases in desired quantities. This Micropropagation Technique is practiced and widely used since 1970. The history of plant tissue culture in Nepal began since 1976 at the National Herbarium and Plant Laboratories, Godawari, under The Department of Plant Resources, HMG/N. This laboratory has been carrying researches on Micropropagation Techniques for producing economically important plants. As a result about 100 protocols of plants have been developed since its establishment."
