Contents: Preface. Introduction. 1. Rethinking Theology. 2. Terrains. 3. Christianity in India: An Appraisal. 4. Theological and Ecclesiological Perspectives. Index.
In this comprehensive volume, the contributors review the developments and the emerging trends of the last seventy-five years since1938, the year the seminal volume Rethinking Christianity in India was first published. The changes in Christianity have been rapid. Theology of dialogue and its various offshoots were among the outcome. Birth of subaltern theologies which is part of that trajectory is the focus of this volume. The Christian response represents the voice of the entire Christian community in India. It also carries the voices of four major disadvantaged groups namely, Dalits, Tribals, Adivasis and Women as also the views of the major traditions of Christian faith, Roman Catholic, Ecumenical, Evangelical and Pentecostal.
