"The subject of this work is the Paite, one of the scheduled tribes of India, who live in Manipur and some states of north-east India. It relates to the socio-religious, cultural and economic life of the Paite people in their pre-Christian culture and shows how Christianity transformed the community into a meaningful life which has enabled them to build and indigenous church in their new belief. It also reveals how communicating and receptive it was to present the saving Gospel and Jesus Christ in the context of their culture in the early days of advent of Christianity as it spread among them."
