"The govt. of India has been conducting various programmes for the development of the rural economy, polity and culture. Initially the govt. of India through its Five year plans has been doing commendable work of the rural development. But because of paucity of funds it has not been possible to do the work of rural development at full speed and with better qualitative results. It is, therefore, very necessary to associate social workers and social organisations in the work of the rural development.
