The present volume contains nineteen research papers and articles written by language teachers, linguistics, researchers, and language educators working in the areas of linguistics and language education. These papers and articles address some of the issues pertaining to linguistic structures, speech corpora, Orthography, language shift, etc. of some of the languages spoken in the North East Region.  The papers and articles included in this volume express concerns of the language teachers, linguistics and researchers working on the languages of this part of India. The authors have attempted to describe and discuss hitherto unknown facts about the structure of some of the languages spoken in the North-East region, especially the lesser known/not so well studied minor/non-scheduled and tribal languages like lepcha, Khasi, Tiwa, Thangal, Tarao, Vaiphei etc.
