"The principles and methods of teaching and learning have drastically changed due to the knowledge revolution and educational technology. As has been recently pointed out in a report of Planning Commission of India that there is a great need of engineers, doctors, teachers and lawyers, due to the fact that most of the brains were trained in India at the Indian cost and are driven away by the agencies of the foreign countries who can afford to pay more salaries. In view of this the basic thinking and the methods of teaching and learning have to be improved accordingly. More and more use of technology and the involvement of students and parents in the process of education is essential. This also involves more investment in education. All these points have been discussed in this book in a very comprehensive way. The editor is grateful to all those American and British sources from whose books lot of material has been borrowed."
