This book describes the formation of the Congress Government in CP and Berar, the working of the Congress Government, and conditions that forced the Congress ministry to end its tenure before completing its term. The Congress Government made notable achievements under the two different Prime Ministers, but in-fighting amongst Congress members brought a bad name to the Government as well as to the Congress leadership. A series of incidents, commonly known as Khare episode, tarnished the image of the Congress party and divided the politicians of the province into two distinct groups.
