"Arunachal Pradesh is widely known for its unique cultures and traditions, and also for its various tribal dances. Each and every tribe of Arunachal Pradesh has its own way of performing dances in relation to their beliefs and faiths. These dances are inherited by the young generations as a legacy from their ancestors. The young people simply imitate the different steps and movements of these dances by observing the adults--there is no formal training as such for these dances.

Popularly known as the Island of Peace, Arunachal has many indigenous tribes and inhabitants. These tribes perform their dances according to the requirements on auspicious and pious occasions. Some dances are also performed for merriment and on marriages.

This title is an endeavour to explore the rich cultural heritage of Arunachal, and to provide detailed information regarding the different dances of Arunachal to the readers, students, teachers, artists, researchers and tourists as well."
