Accordingly the present study is designed to explore the various sectoral dynamics of tribal development in the present context and understand the impacts and implications of the State and Central Governments programmes on the socioeconomic institutional conditions of the tribals in agency areas. This is a micro level analysis of institutional and functional aspects of development programmes as well as functionality of Integrated Tribal Development Agencies. The context of the study is an Integrated Tribal Development Agency of Visakhapatnam District in the State of Andhra Pradesh which has a vast chunk of tribal area.
The study is intended to assess impact of activities schemes implemented through Integrated Tribal Development Agencies of Tribal Welfare Departments in improving the quality of life self esteem economic well being decision making leadership promotion and empowerment of tribals in the agency area. The study is therefore aiming at exploring the modus operandi of schemes and programmes implementation and impact created and thereby comes out with meaningful suggestions for improving the service delivery mechanism as well as efficiency in institution functionality.
